This experienced entrepreneur has developed a professional and rapidly scalable procedure (scanning and 3D printing) for a custom-made prosthesis that can be used externally following an amputation—which is unfortunately all too common. Internationally, there are no high-quality alternatives to this prosthesis. While there are lower-quality alternatives, these significantly restrict the prosthesis user regarding, among other things, their future clothing choices and the ability to continue wearing their own clothes.

In the European Union alone, this involves several hundred thousand potential cases per year. Because the human body changes shape over time, it is realistic to assume a replacement prosthesis approximately every two years.

Rapid growth in Europe
A rapid rollout is desirable and possible in both the Netherlands and the EU. In the Netherlands, the prosthesis is largely reimbursed through health insurance. A similar policy is expected to be implemented in other European countries. In addition to the prosthesis, the company sells a specific skin adhesive in combination with the prosthesis for optimal use and comfort.
