Company history/background
History
The company was founded in 2000 by the owner in Lemmer.
In addition to the production of plastic cases, the entrepreneur is currently active in making so-called animatronics: movable and talking puppets for museums, fairs, and theme parks. There are opportunities for expansion in both activities, but the owner wishes to concentrate on a single activity, hence the sale of the case production. Turnover from the transport cases has been stable for many years, and there is a fine customer base in the Netherlands, EU countries, and beyond.
Company activities
Production of plastic rotomoulded transport cases
The machines and associated molds and tools are offered for acquisition.
- The plastics machine is a so-called shuttle rotational molding machine with 10 aluminum molds.
- A bending machine and hydraulic angle press for the aluminium profiles.
- A hydraulic press for mounting the profiles on the plastic shell parts.
Suitcases are produced in Lemmer by 2-3 people.
Unique selling points
The product
The suitcases currently in production are generally large in volume; the advantage of this is that comparable products from Asia entail high transport costs.
The entire product is manufactured in-house. This allows for very fast and accurate processing and delivery. A webshop was opened a few years ago to see what it might bring. The first year generated nice additional revenue, but the shop was hacked four times, so it was decided to discontinue it. Due to the company's other activities, attention to the cases has not been optimal, and there is certainly room for expansion. For many years, the company has been a supplier to a major European player in storage and transport equipment, a large scaffolding factory, a wholesaler of trailer parts, and several export customers in France, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the UK.
Other
Acquisition of means of production
Production must transfer tacitly to a new owner, with the current owner remaining involved for 6 months after the transfer. Production will need to be relocated to a new location after the transfer. Machines, molds, and tools are easy to move.
Molds are 2.5 CNC milled in-house. New molds can be manufactured by the current owner, even after the acquisition.
