Company history/background
A leading trading company (corporation), specializing in the manufacture and supply of equipment for wastewater treatment and odor filters, is being offered for acquisition. The company was founded years ago and has been in the hands of the current owner since 2008. A strong (international) market position has been built in a niche market (B2B). The company provides services from design to delivery and on-site installation. The organization is run by a small team of five people, including the owner. A large part of the work is carried out in-house from representative rented premises. Additionally, the company works with a flexible pool.
Company activities
The turnover amounts to approximately €2,000,000 per year and profitability is excellent. 100% of the shares are being offered for acquisition. The company is located in the Randstad. Over the years, the company in question has built up a strong reputation, has a very stable and loyal customer base, and is regarded as a reliable partner both nationally and internationally. This is reflected in winning Dutch tenders and securing global contracts. Customers in the Netherlands include regional water authorities, water boards, municipalities, petrochemical industries, superyacht builders, and road and hydraulic engineering contractors. Customers abroad are often large construction consortia building complete factories or treatment plants. Due to the combination of products and customers—as mentioned—it can be stated that the company operates in a niche market.
Unique selling points
International growth—in Eastern Europe, the Arab world, and Asia—has developed strongly and positively in recent years. This presents growth opportunities for the near future. The first steps have been demonstrably successfully taken and completed; subsequent steps must build upon this success. Since there is no in-house machinery, there is ample room for growth without high investment costs. The company is therefore scalable for expansion.
The owner wishes to transfer the company, which he has carefully built up, due to his approaching retirement age. Preference is given to a successor who will further develop the company and possesses the competencies to drive further international growth. The experienced owner is making his (market) knowledge available for this purpose.
This company is interesting for larger (trading) companies looking to expand their activities, but also for smaller players or financially strong MBI candidates.
